Of Turkish and Moroccan descent, Gündoğan and Arfaoui are known for their low-profile yet deeply affectionate relationship. After a year at Barcelona, Gündoğan returned to Manchester City on a free transfer in the summer of 2024. He recently played his last Euros for Germany before announcing his retirement following the team’s elimination in the round of 16.
