NIGERIAN PORTS AUTHORITY DONATES ₦200 MILLION TO FLOOD VICTIMS IN BORNO STATE

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has pledged a donation of ₦200 million to support victims of the recent devastating floods in Borno State. This humanitarian gesture was announced by Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, the Managing Director/CEO of the NPA, in a letter affirming the organization’s solidarity with the affected communities.

Dantsoho expressed that the NPA stands with Borno State during this challenging time, highlighting the significant losses and disruptions caused by the floods. He stated, “As a token of support for your disaster relief efforts, the Nigerian Ports Authority, under the guidance of the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, hereby donates the sum of Two Hundred Million Naira (₦200,000,000.00) to aid efforts at stabilizing the victims as quickly as possible.”

The donation was presented to the Governor of Borno State in Maiduguri on September 20, 2024, by a delegation from the NPA, including Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar, Executive Director of Engineering & Technical Services, Ms. Vivian Richard Edet, Executive Director of Finance & Administration, and Engr. Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine & Operations.
