The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has secured all chairmanship positions in the council elections held on Saturday across Enugu State. Prof. Christian Ngwu, Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), announced the results, commending the election for being free and fair.

PDP chairman-elects celebrated their victories with Hon. Aka Eze Aka (Udenu Local Government) pledging a “massive agricultural revolution” and improvements in infrastructure. Similarly, Greg Anyaegbudike (Oji River Local Government) promised to focus on youth empowerment through job creation and skills acquisition programs.

The absence of opposition candidates at the ENSIEC declaration raised some speculation regarding the election’s outcome, though the results align with Governor Peter Mbah’s efforts to strengthen democracy in the state.
