Republican Donald Trump has stated he will not run in the 2028 presidential election if he loses in the upcoming November poll. In an interview aired on Sunday on the US news program “Full Measure,” the 78-year-old former president said, “No, I don’t. I think that will be it. I don’t see that at all.”

Trump expressed hope for a successful outcome on Election Day, November 5. Currently, he is in a tight race with Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, particularly in key battleground states.

The Democratic Party has gained momentum since President Joe Biden withdrew as its candidate in July after a challenging debate with Trump.

Trump, who lost to Biden in 2020, has long claimed the election was “stolen,” a stance that has fueled conspiracy theories and led to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot by his supporters, who sought to disrupt the certification of the election results.

In recent months, Trump has repeatedly declined to commit to unconditionally recognizing the results of the upcoming election.
