PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES SENATOR OKPEBHOLO ON EDO GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION VICTORY

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, following his victory in the recent Edo governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Okpebholo the winner on Sunday.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended the efforts of APC national leaders, Edo leaders, and party governors, highlighting the election’s outcome as a testament to the people’s support for the ruling party’s progressive ideals and commitment to improving citizens’ lives.

Tinubu urged Okpebholo to view his victory as a call to service, encouraging him to reach out to political rivals and foster unity within Edo State for its development. He also recognized the contributions of all candidates to Nigeria’s democratic process, emphasizing that peaceful elections reflect a stable democracy.

The President called on anyone aggrieved by the election results to seek redress through legal means. He praised the people of Edo for their orderly conduct during the election and acknowledged INEC and security agencies for facilitating a successful, peaceful electoral process, reaffirming the commission’s commitment to free and fair elections in Nigeria.
