Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have taken over Ramat Park in Benin, celebrating despite the fact that the results of the Edo Governorship Election have yet to be announced.

As of the latest updates, the collation of results has not begun. Both political parties, competing vigorously in the off-cycle election held on Saturday, saw 17 candidates vying for the governorship position.

The supporters faced each other, chanting victory songs and demonstrating their confidence in the election outcome. Joint security forces, including police and military personnel, faced challenges in maintaining order between the two groups.

Ramat Park is located approximately 700 meters from the INEC office in Benin. APC supporters set up electronic equipment and danced to music, while Edo residents participated in the election to select a new governor who will lead the state for the next four years. The election took place under strict security measures.
