NSCDC IDENTIFIES FLASH SPOTS IN EDO AHEAD OF ELECTION

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has identified 60 flash spots in Edo State in preparation for the upcoming governorship election on Saturday. Mr. Gbenga Agun, the state Commandant, made this announcement during an interview in Benin, stating that personnel have been deployed to these areas to ensure maximum security.

In a briefing for the 6,464 officers assigned to the election, Deputy Commandant-General Mr. Philip Ayuba emphasized the importance of adhering to the proper uniform dress code to prevent infiltration within the corps. He mentioned reports of individuals attempting to disguise themselves as NSCDC personnel and assured that measures are in place to address this.

Ayuba urged officers to maintain professionalism, advising them to interact amicably with the public and uphold the standards of conduct expected of them. He reiterated that any officer not in the correct uniform would be denied entry to their duties.

The deputy commandant-general affirmed the corps’ commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and credible gubernatorial election, highlighting the importance of protecting citizens’ rights to vote without intimidation.
