COMRADE KENNEDY IYERE WITHDRAWS FROM EDO GOVERNORSHIP RACE

< 1 mn read

Comrade Kennedy Iyere, the Accord Party candidate for the Edo State governorship election, has officially withdrawn from the race, citing a higher calling to serve Nigeria on a national level. This announcement comes just 24 hours before the election.

Iyere’s decision is influenced by internal party conflicts, including allegations of a conspiracy involving his running mate, Bright Enabulele. He expressed that these struggles motivated him to focus on broader national goals, stating, “Serving as a governor will place limitations on me.”

His national focus revolves around the ‘Food4All Initiative,’ aimed at achieving food security and creating mass employment through the ‘One-Family-One-Farmer Scheme.’ Iyere has already presented this initiative to President Bola Tinubu and is collaborating with the federal government to launch it in October 2024.

Iyere’s vision extends beyond the governorship, as he aims to assist the federal government in developing a roadmap for economic inclusion and youth engagement through social intervention programs.
