Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), has urged graduating Cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) to rise to the high expectations of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Addressing them at the NDA 2024 ‘Beating of the Retreat’ and Prize Giving Ceremony on September 18, Abubakar emphasized the need for the Cadets to tackle contemporary security challenges with determination and adaptability.

The CAS stressed that the Cadets should excel not only in bravery but also in mastering the tools and innovations of modern warfare. He reminded the graduating Cadets of the significant resources invested in their training and character development, noting that the hopes of the nation rest on their shoulders.

Abubakar called on the Cadets to focus on what they can contribute to their country rather than what they can receive. He highlighted the importance of integrity, loyalty, and courage, urging the new officers to prioritize national interests and excel in defending the country’s territorial integrity and protecting its people.
