PDP LEADERSHIP DENIES SENATOR TSAURI’S SUSPENSION, CALLS LETTER A FORGERY

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Tsauri “A” Ward in Katsina State has refuted claims of Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri’s suspension, labeling the letter announcing his suspension as a forgery.

The letter, dated September 13, 2024, and purportedly signed by key ward officials including the ward chairman and secretary, was circulated on social media.

However, other sources suggest that the suspension was indeed announced by the Tsauri ‘A’ Ward Executive Committee of the PDP. The reasons cited include allegations of anti-party activities, inappropriate comments against the national leadership, and actions that might damage the party’s reputation.

Abdullahi Garba, the Ward’s secretary, stated that the controversy emerged following a meeting led by the new state PDP chairman regarding the party’s strategy in Kurfi Local Government. A reconciliation plan for Sen. Tsauri was proposed, but the forged suspension letter soon appeared online.

The ward executives have condemned the attempt to tarnish Sen. Tsauri’s and the PDP’s reputation, asserting that only the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) has the authority to suspend a high-ranking member like Sen. Tsauri. They allege that the forgery was orchestrated by individuals with personal interests, including the ward Chairman, Danjuma Abubakar.

As a result, Abubakar was suspended by the remaining executive members for violating party rules. The ward executives urged party members and the public to disregard the forged letter and affirmed that the PDP in Kurfi remains united under Sen. Umar Tsauri’s leadership.

The authenticity of the suspension letter is disputed, and conflicting reports continue to circulate
