The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have accused the Nigerian Army of orchestrating the alleged abduction of one of their soldiers to discredit the group.

In a statement from IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group denied the Nigerian Army’s claims that IPOB was involved in the abduction and coercion of a soldier. They assert that such claims are false and part of a broader attempt by the Nigerian Army and Police to malign IPOB.

IPOB criticized recent accusations from the Army, describing them as “self-staged crimes” intended to continue the army’s assault on the Biafra movement. They emphasized that while IPOB has called for Biafrans in Nigerian security services to resign, they have never used force or threats to make such demands.

The group denounced the video of the purported abducted soldier as another false flag operation by the Nigerian Army to justify ongoing violence against the people of Ndigbo. They also rejected allegations that IPOB has any connection with the so-called Biafra Liberation Army, branding it as a fabrication by the Nigerian government.

IPOB reaffirmed their commitment to a non-violent approach and criticized the Nigerian Army’s attempts to frame them for crimes committed by others. They urged the global community to recognize the truth about IPOB’s peaceful stance and ongoing persecution by the Nigerian government.
