CONFLICTING REPORTS EMERGE ABOUT YAHAYA BELLO’S PRESENCE AT EFCC

Conflicting reports have arisen regarding the former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello’s presence at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Reports have varied about whether Bello was arrested or voluntarily attended the EFCC headquarters. Sources within the EFCC have claimed that Bello was apprehended in a midnight operation in Lokoja. In contrast, Bello’s media team asserts that he attended the EFCC’s invitation voluntarily.

One source alleged that Bello was arrested in Lokoja by EFCC operatives during a midnight raid. However, Ohiare Michael, Director of the Yahaya Bello Media Office, stated that Bello honored the EFCC’s invitation after consulting with his family, legal team, and political allies.

Michael’s press release emphasized that Bello respects the rule of law and is committed to due process. It noted that the case is under judicial review and that Bello is represented by his legal team.
