The Federal High Court in Abuja has delayed its judgment regarding the suit challenging Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’s role as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Initially set for September 18, the judgment has been moved to September 23 due to the absence of the written ruling.

According to a source, the court notified the involved parties of the new date via phone. Justice Inyang Ekwo had previously scheduled the judgment for September 18, following the final submissions from both the plaintiff and defense in July.

The lawsuit, brought forward by the North Central APC Forum, led by Saleh Zazzaga, claims that Ganduje’s appointment violates the APC’s constitutional provisions. The group contends that the position of National Chairman should be occupied by someone from the North Central geopolitical zone, rather than by Ganduje, who is from Kano in the North West.

The plaintiffs are seeking the court’s intervention to prevent Ganduje from continuing as APC chairman and are also requesting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ignore actions taken by the APC under his leadership.
