The Association of Capital Market Academics of Nigeria (ACMAN) awarded the Fellowship of Capital Market Academics to Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Monday.
ACMAN President, Prof. Uche Uwaleke, announced this during a courtesy visit to Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The fellowship is the highest membership status within the association. Uwaleke noted that Shettima’s role as Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC) was a key factor in the decision, which was made unanimously at ACMAN’s recent conference.
Uwaleke emphasized that the award includes an inaugural lecture, which is a crucial component of the fellowship. He also highlighted that ACMAN supports President Bola Tinubu’s administration in fiscal policy reforms and aims to enhance the link between academia and industry.
Shettima underscored the importance of the capital market in achieving the administration’s goal of creating a trillion-dollar economy. He acknowledged the significant role of capital market experts in driving economic progress and expressed appreciation for their contributions. Shettima called for continued collaboration to develop solutions that address Nigeria’s needs and asserted that Nigeria’s progress impacts the entire African continent.
