Salisu Ahmed, a 66-year-old Nigerian, has become the fourth person globally to achieve remission from HIV following a stem cell transplant. This milestone places him as the oldest individual to reach long-term remission from the virus.

Ahmed, who contracted HIV 31 years ago after his first extramarital affair, has shared the challenges he faced, including severe stigma and discrimination. MEDICAL TREATMENT
The life-changing stem cell transplant was carried out at the City of Hope Medical Center in the United States.
