Nigerian singer Rema recently shared what drives him to continually push boundaries in the music industry during his appearance on The Breakfast Club. At just 24, Rema has already achieved significant success, and he revealed that his primary motivation is his family and support system.

Rema explained that transitioning from his previous life to a career in music came with new responsibilities. “Number one; my drive has always been family,” he said. “I feel like my family has grown bigger by how much love I receive and how much people have supported me to achieve my vision.”

He described the sense of duty he feels to support his family and meet the responsibilities that come with his success. “I have so much responsibility now; leaving the hood, the first thing you want to do is to feed your family and when you come in the game, you see all the responsibilities that come with being an artist or being the chosen one,” Rema added.

Rema also highlighted his commitment to his team and those who have supported him. He mentioned taking time to understand and support their dreams as well. “Sometimes you have to take time out and ask them, ‘What do you want?’” he noted. “My manager would be like, ‘I want to manage the biggest artist out of Africa,’ and I want to get him that.”

Rema’s motivation goes beyond financial success; it encompasses fulfilling personal and professional responsibilities.
