PRESIDENT TINUBU VISITS FLOOD VICTIMS IN BORNO

President Bola Tinubu visited the victims of the recent flood disaster in Borno State, which claimed at least 30 lives, displaced over two million people, and caused billions of naira in property damage. During his visit, President Tinubu assured maximum federal support to Borno and other affected states and commended local leaders and stakeholders for their efforts.

GOVERNOR ZULUM AND THE SHEHU OF BORNO REACT:

Governor Babagana Zulum and the Shehu of Borno, Dr. Abubakar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi, expressed their gratitude for President Tinubu’s visit and support. Governor Zulum highlighted the federal government’s contribution of N3 billion to each state, which Borno has begun using to aid disaster management. The Shehu thanked the President for the support extended to traditional institutions and victims.

GOVERNOR MOHAMMED OF BAUCHI ANNOUNCES DONATION:

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State announced a N250 million donation to flood victims in Borno and deployed emergency teams to provide daily meals to over 10,000 displaced individuals.

IGP EGBETOKUN VISITS BORNO:

Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, led a delegation to Borno to offer condolences and support for rebuilding efforts, especially after the flooding affected police formations and barracks.

SULTAN OF SOKOTO CALLS FOR PROACTIVE FLOOD MANAGEMENT:

Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar IV, urged the federal government to publicize flood-prone areas to ensure public safety. The JNI emphasized the need for proactive flood management and greater community vigilance during the rainy season, calling for a holistic approach to address recurring flooding issues in Nigeria.
