Patrick Ejededawe, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, has been cleared of involvement in the recent arrests linked to violence and possession of firearms in the Edo Central Senatorial District. The arrests are connected to the build-up to the upcoming governorship election.

GROUP DEFENDS DCP EJEDDAWE AGAINST FALSE ALLEGATIONS

At a press conference, Joe Ugege, the leader of the group, asserted that DCP Ejededawe should not be implicated in the controversy surrounding these arrests. Ugege emphasized that Ejededawe has no connection to the case and urged for a fair investigation.

CLARIFICATION ON THE ARRESTS

Ugege explained that a young man apprehended by vigilantes for possessing weapons had named certain individuals, including politicians, as those who provided him with the firearms. However, he asserted that DCP Ejededawe has consistently denied any involvement or knowledge of these events.

CALL FOR IMPARTIAL INVESTIGATION

The group is calling on the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation into the matter. They also demand the immediate release of any individuals wrongfully implicated and not connected to the firearms.
