In celebration of his 30th anniversary as a standout figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry, Francis Agoda, better known as I Go Dye, has organized a series of events for his fans worldwide, starting with a tour of major UK cities.

Born in Delta State, Nigeria, I Go Dye has been captivating audiences with sold-out shows since he made his debut in 1994. Over the past three decades, he has established himself as a leading figure in a crowded field of comedians.

The comedian, who also serves as a Sustainable Global Goals Ambassador and a Global Diplomat for Peace Advocacy, is set to begin a UK tour titled “I Go Dye Standing: Best Across Generations.” According to his manager, Sharon Vivid, the tour kicked off in Reading on September 7th and will continue with performances in Birmingham on September 20th and Newcastle the following week. The tour will cover seven cities in total and is organized by Seaside Entertainment Company with support from Aiben Properties Igodye.

Recognized as one of Africa’s funniest comedians, I Go Dye has traveled extensively and has been honored with numerous accolades, including the African Child Prize in 2017 alongside former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and other global leaders.

Reflecting on his career, I Go Dye described the tour as a way to express his gratitude to fans and supporters who have been with him since his early days in comedy. He acknowledged the challenges he faced at the beginning but is proud to have played a role in transforming comedy into a respected and financially viable industry in Nigeria.

He noted that while comedy was once viewed as an unworthy pursuit, hard work and dedication have since elevated its status. He believes that the craft’s evolution will lead to future generations of parents encouraging their children to pursue careers in entertainment.

“The perception of comedy has changed significantly,” I Go Dye said. “What was once seen as a pursuit for misfits is now a respected and integral part of our economy, thanks to the support of fans, social media, and brands.”

As he embarks on this UK tour, I Go Dye is eager to continue celebrating his milestone and further solidify his legacy in the global entertainment scene.
