Nigerian singer Portable has responded to the backlash following an incident where he slapped a preacher in front of his bar last week. On September 16, 2024, Portable took to Instagram to clarify the situation and address the criticism he received.

Portable explained that the preacher who was slapped was not a genuine man of God. He claimed that someone dressed as a pastor had previously attacked his sister, leading him to believe that the preacher might be part of a setup. He stated, “If he was a real man of God, I would not have slapped him. The way he acted was why I slapped him. I’m a human being and I’m not perfect,” adding an apology for his actions.

The incident, which took place on September 9, 2024, was captured during an Instagram live session at Portable’s bar in the Sango area of Ogun State. During the live stream, Portable noticed the preacher evangelizing in front of his establishment, which led him to confront and slap the preacher, accusing him of disturbing his customers. Portable’s reaction included insults and a verbal outburst, stating, “Why are you doing this? Are you crazy? Why are you coming to disgrace me in my bar? Fuck you, bro.”

The altercation has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many expressing disapproval of Portable’s actions.
