NIGERIAN ARMY CAPTURES WANTED TERRORIST KINGPIN AND RESCUES KIDNAPPED VICTIMS

The Nigerian Army announced the capture of Husseini Usman, a wanted terrorist kingpin, in Ganawuri village, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The operation, reported on the Army’s official X Handle, also led to the rescue of kidnapped victims and the seizure of weapons and critical logistics used by the terrorists.

On September 11, acting on reliable intelligence, the troops apprehended Usman, who admitted to orchestrating several deadly attacks in Plateau. He confessed to being behind a recent assault on Ganawuri village that resulted in four deaths and was involved in a local kidnapping syndicate that had abducted two individuals.

Additionally, during a separate operation in Kyaram village, Kanam Local Government Area, the troops successfully rescued two more kidnapped victims.

In Borno State, the Army launched an ambush against terrorists moving from Sambisa Forest to the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Local Government Area. The operation resulted in the elimination of two terrorists after an intense shootout.

In Kaduna State, troops targeted a terrorist hideout in Gobarawa Forest, Birnin Gwari area. The criminals fled upon sighting the troops, who recovered an AK-47 rifle, 16 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and five motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.
