In the video, shared widely on September 13, 2024, Johnson is seen addressing a crowd from a campaign vehicle in Ward 6, Irruekpen, Esan West LGA, where she encouraged voters to support APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

The actress’s endorsement has been met with widespread criticism on social media. Many users expressed their disapproval, criticizing Johnson for using her platform to support the ruling party.

“Mercy Johnson is using her fame to drag many people to vote for APC. Next week, she will come and tell us eggs are now costly.”
