The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi has issued a stern warning to its officers against indolence and extortion of motorists on the highways. This warning was delivered by FRSC Sector Commander Samuel Oyedeji during the opening of a workshop for heads of operations at the command’s head office in Lokoja.

Oyedeji emphasized that any officer found guilty of misconduct would face severe penalties according to the corps’ regulations, including potential dismissal, to set a strong example for others.

He stressed the importance of diligence and integrity in their duties, stating, “We are in Kogi as officers and men of the corps to serve diligently; and that we must put at the back of our minds.”

The Sector Commander urged officers to avoid any actions that could damage the FRSC’s reputation and to instead project a positive image of the corps. He reiterated that the safety of travelers on the highways should be the top priority and encouraged officers to be proactive in assisting during road accidents.
