The Northern Coalition of Socio-Political Forum has come forward to strongly defend Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-ma (FUDMA), against recent allegations of maladministration circulating on social media.

The group dismissed the accusations as “unnecessary distractions” and urged the public to disregard them. These allegations, reportedly made by a former staff member, suggested that the Vice Chancellor had been summoned by the House of Representatives Committee on Tertiary Institutions to address concerns about alleged maladministration and leadership incompetence. However, the university has denied receiving any such official communication.

The Northern Coalition highlighted Professor Bichi’s exemplary record in performance, leadership, and financial management, emphasizing his strong working relationship with both staff and management, which has been instrumental in the university’s development.

Comrade Musa Mohammed, the National President of the group, argued that the social media allegations were a calculated attempt to tarnish the Vice Chancellor’s reputation. He pointed out that the individual behind the claims had been dismissed by the university’s Governing Council following due process.

The university reiterated that Professor Bichi holds the National Assembly in high regard and would comply with any formal requests. The Northern Coalition commended the Vice Chancellor’s dedication to transparency and accountability, calling on the public to ignore the false information being circulated.
