PDP ACCUSES APC, LABOUR PARTY OF “UNHOLY ALLIANCE” TO EXPLOIT VOTERS

With the Edo gubernatorial election approaching on September 21, 2024, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised alarms over an alleged alliance between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party.

The PDP claims this coalition is designed to subjugate the Edo people, suggesting that a vote for the Labour Party equates to support for APC oppression. Rev. Olu Martins, Deputy Director General of Media and Publicity for the PDP Campaign Council, has criticized the Labour Party’s decision to align with the APC, labeling it a “betrayal” intended to divide the Edo South Senatorial District electorate to the APC’s advantage.

Martins argues that this alliance is a strategy to diminish the APC’s electoral deficit by splitting the vote in key areas. He warns that such a coalition could lead Edo into the same “bondage” experienced under APC’s national leadership.

The PDP urges voters to reject both the APC and the Labour Party, emphasizing that only the PDP’s candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, can ensure the state’s continued progress. Martins concludes that a vote for the Labour Party is effectively a vote for APC’s ongoing oppression, and calls on Edo residents to reject these parties in all their forms.
