APC DEFENDS TINUBU’S ECONOMIC REFORMS, BLASTS EX-VC LUKMAN FOR CRITICISM

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has defended President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, asserting that they are designed to address Nigeria’s long-standing economic issues for the benefit of both current and future generations. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, responded to criticisms from Dr. Salihu Lukman, the party’s former National Vice-Chairman, North-West, who had questioned the effectiveness of the reforms.

Morka described Lukman’s comments as baseless and a distraction, accusing him of seeking political relevance and spreading misinformation. “Lukman appears to have taken on the role of a vocal critic of the APC, making unsubstantiated claims about the administration’s economic policies and calling for its removal in 2027,” Morka said.

He urged Nigerians to remain focused and not be swayed by opposition criticism. Morka emphasized that President Tinubu’s administration is committed to reforming the economy, improving national security, and advancing sustainable development. While acknowledging that the reforms may currently be causing economic hardship, Morka believes they will eventually lead to positive outcomes.

He noted that previous administrations avoided necessary reforms, allowing the country’s economic challenges to persist. “Tinubu has chosen to address these issues head-on, in line with the Renewed Hope agenda, which aims to rectify Nigeria’s deep-rooted economic problems for the greater good,” Morka concluded.
