Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes has openly criticized France Football’s decision to exclude him from the Ballon d’Or 30-man shortlist. Despite a standout season where he contributed 26 goals or assists, Rodrygo found himself absent from the prestigious list, which featured his Real Madrid teammates such as Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Federico Valverde, Antonio Rudiger, Dani Carvajal, and even retired Toni Kroos.

“I was upset when I saw they didn’t include me in Ballon d’Or nominees,” Rodrygo admitted in an interview. “I think I deserved it. I don’t want to belittle the players who are there, but I think I had a place. It was a surprise… but there is not much I can do; I don’t make decisions,” he told reporters, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

In addition to addressing the Ballon d’Or snub, Rodrygo also touched on speculation surrounding his future at Real Madrid following the signing of Kylian Mbappe. Rumors have suggested that he might seek a move to clubs like Manchester United or Arsenal to secure more playing time. However, Rodrygo has repeatedly dismissed such rumors, reiterating his commitment to Real Madrid.

“I want to win all the titles that I have already won several times,” he said. “Real Madrid is the best club in the world, and that is what motivates me to be at the level of the best club in the world every day. That is why I get up every day to train and to be better.”
