FLUTTERWAVE STRENGTHENS EXECUTIVE TEAM WITH NEW CFO, MITESH POPAT

Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company, has announced the appointment of Mitesh Popat as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Mitesh Popat brings 20 years of extensive experience in global financial services across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His background will be pivotal in driving Flutterwave’s next phase of growth and financial sustainability.

Previously, Mitesh held significant roles at Citi, including Chief Financial Officer for the Middle East and Africa and CFO for Global Equities Sales and Trading. In these roles, he managed finance operations across 29 countries and provided financial leadership for a $5 billion revenue business. His expertise includes strategic direction, performance management, and balance sheet optimization.

In his new role at Flutterwave, Mitesh will oversee the company’s corporate finance functions, supporting its growth plans, ensuring balanced resource allocation, and driving strategic execution.

Mitesh expressed enthusiasm about joining Flutterwave, stating, “I am excited to have joined the Flutterwave team at this important time in the company’s journey. My deep understanding of the operating environment in Africa and the complexity of emerging markets will help in growing Flutterwave and optimizing our business model for sustained profitability.”

Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave, welcomed Mitesh’s appointment, highlighting his extensive experience in Africa and alignment with Flutterwave’s values.
