UNILORIN PARTNERS WITH CHINESE UNIVERSITY FOR RESEARCH COLLABORATION

The University of Ilorin has formalized a partnership with North-China University of Water Resources and Electric Power in Zhengzhou, Henan, China. The agreement, established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in China, aims to create academic linkages and enhance educational collaboration between the two institutions.

The MoU, signed by Prof. Wahab Egbewole, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, and his counterpart from the North-China University, was part of the First Exchange Mechanism Conference of the China-Africa Consortium of Universities and the China-Africa Higher Education Dialogue, held in Beijing from September 5 to September 7. This conference was co-hosted by the China Association of Higher Education (CAHE) and the Association of African Universities (AAU).

The collaboration is set to advance academic cooperation in various areas, including education, research, and cultural exchange. It will facilitate joint research projects, student and staff exchanges, and other academic activities beneficial to both institutions. Unilorin is among the 100 African universities selected for this initiative, aimed at strengthening educational ties and knowledge exchange between African and Chinese universities.

Prof. Egbewole emphasized that the partnership would foster cross-cultural academic exchange and help both universities address global challenges, particularly in water resources and electricity. He assured the commitment of UNILORIN to uphold and nurture this collaborative relationship.
