Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry has responded to allegations from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) regarding the misuse of its name in promoting spiritual products. The controversy arose after NAFDAC issued a public warning on September 8, 2024, cautioning against the ministry’s association with NAFDAC in relation to its miracle water and soap.

In a statement released by the church’s media representative, Sophia Lloyd, Fufeyin’s ministry rejected the claims as “false and misleading.” The statement emphasized that the church operates under the constitutional protections of freedom of religion and expression, and has not engaged in the production or sale of consumable items falsely branded with NAFDAC’s name.

The church also noted that it received a letter from NAFDAC on August 27, 2024, requesting a response about the use of healing items, but was given less than 12 hours to reply. The church had already communicated its position to NAFDAC. Additionally, the church accused Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, the complainant, of forging receipts, with the matter now under police investigation.

The ministry expressed frustration over NAFDAC’s lack of response to its inquiries and reiterated its willingness to engage in dialogue to resolve the issue.
