The Nigerian Presidency has officially denied any connection to a yacht spotted flying the Nigerian flag in St. Tropez, France, which has been mistakenly linked to President Bola Tinubu. The yacht, featured in a viral video circulating on social media, sparked numerous conspiracy theories suggesting it was owned by Tinubu or the Nigerian government.

In response, Otega Ogra, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, clarified that neither the President nor the Nigerian government has any ties to the yacht. Ogra explained that the vessel is privately owned and has been in private possession for about five years since its construction.

He also noted that the yacht’s flag, which displayed a coat of arms, does not represent the official Nigerian flag used by the President or the Armed Forces. The official Nigerian flag is Green-White-Green without any symbols in the center, and any flag with additional symbols is not officially recognized.

Ogra’s statement emphasized that the yacht belongs to a private individual, and any claims associating it with the Nigerian government or President Tinubu are false.
