LAGOS TASKFORCE ARRESTS BLACK MARKETERS TO CRACKDOWN ON FUEL SCARCITY

The Lagos State Taskforce has apprehended six individuals involved in illegal fuel sales amidst the ongoing fuel scarcity crisis. The arrests took place in key areas, including Fadeyi, Maryland, Charity Bus Stop, and Airport Road.

The task force, led by CSP Adetayo Akerele, targeted black market vendors caught selling petrol at inflated prices. Akerele condemned these practices, emphasizing the financial and safety hazards posed by such activities. “The actions of these black market operators are not only cruel but also constitute a severe threat to public safety,” he stated.

  • Toibu Ishola, 44
  • Yakubu Olayiwola, 34
  • Adebayo Rasak, 29
  • Maria Balogun, 50
  • Motunrayo Dosunmu, 43
  • John Ogunfowokan, 45

Akerele warned that those involved in illegal fuel sales or colluding with petrol stations to exploit the scarcity should cease immediately or face legal repercussions. He also encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities related to illegal fuel sales to prevent potential disasters.

The task force has assured Lagos residents that their crackdown on illegal fuel sales will continue, with a focus on maintaining safety and security for both locals and visitors.
