The Oyo State Government took decisive action on Thursday by demolishing structures along the Ibadan-Lagos expressway that were being used by illegal diesel marketers. Despite multiple warnings from the state, these marketers continued their operations, prompting the government to intervene.
Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, led the demolition exercise and strongly criticized the illegal sale of adulterated diesel at unauthorized locations. He expressed disappointment at the marketers’ disregard for the state government’s warnings and cautioned that any further illegal trading in the area would result in legal consequences.
