FIREBOY’S ‘PERU’ RECEIVES DIAMOND CERTIFICATION IN FRANCE

Fireboy’s hit single ‘Peru’ has achieved a significant milestone by receiving a diamond certification in France. Released in 2021, ‘Peru’ gained widespread commercial success, charting in multiple countries including the US, the UK, and France.

The song, boosted by its remix featuring British superstar Ed Sheeran, reached global prominence. It charted in over 20 countries, including a peak at No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 2 on the UK Official Singles Chart, and No. 28 in France.

‘Peru’ has amassed over 450 million streams on Spotify across both versions. It has also earned gold certification in Denmark, 2X platinum status in the UK, and an RIAA platinum plaque.

The track, part of Fireboy’s third album ‘Playboy,’ has cemented his international success, including a BET nomination and a performance at the 2022 BET Awards. With its diamond certification in France, ‘Peru’ joins other notable Nigerian songs with SNEP diamond certifications, such as Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa,’ Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush,’ Burna Boy’s ‘On The Low,’ and Rema’s ‘Calm Down.’

Fireboy continues to rise globally with his recent release, the fourth album ‘adedamola,’ featuring collaborations with Lagbaja, Grammy nominee Seun Kuti, Lojay, and Grammy Album of the Year winner Jon Baptiste.
