Chinwe Elibe and Zion Ogiefa, known as the Zinwe duo from BBNaija, have addressed the intense scrutiny and criticism they’ve received regarding their relationship. Following their eviction on August 25, 2024, the couple expressed their surprise at the extent of public reaction during a recent interview on Beat 99.9FM.
Chinwe commented, “We came out to some shocking revelations. Based on the conversations we had, misunderstandings were part of the game. But coming out, opinions were formed as well and based off those opinions, we didn’t really expect that level of criticism towards the relationship.”
The duo admitted their astonishment at how seriously the public has taken their personal matters. Chinwe added, “It’s the both of us in it and we understand what happened but other people seem to be taking it a little more seriously and I’m just like, ‘You guys chill.'”
Zion echoed her sentiment, noting, “They’re so deep in it.”
During their time on the show, the pair, who entered the BBNaija house as a romantic couple, occasionally displayed intimacy. Chinwe also faced speculation about a possible pregnancy due to a delay in her menstrual period. She clarified in a previous interview that such delays can be caused by various factors, including stress and hormonal imbalances, and are not necessarily indicative of pregnancy.
She added with a laugh, “Being pregnant is a good thing, but right now mama is still single.”
