On August 28, 2024, Fireboy DML unveiled his fourth studio album, titled Adedamola. This eagerly awaited album features collaborations with renowned Nigerian artists such as Lagbaja, Grammy-nominated Afrobeat star Seun Kuti, Afrobeats hitmaker Lojay, and Grammy-winning American singer Jon Baptiste. Additionally, Nigerian superstar DJ and producer Spinall also contributes to the project.
Adedamola arrives two years after Fireboy’s third album, Playboy, which included popular singles like “Bandana” featuring Asake. The new album reflects a shift from the hedonistic themes of Playboy to more personal and nostalgic undertones, aligning with Fireboy’s real name, Adedamola.
Fireboy described the album as deeply personal, emphasizing that it represents a call to his roots. He stated, “Every single part of me went into this album. It feels nostalgic, like a call to home. I’m excited to share it with the world.”
The album is expected to strengthen Fireboy’s global presence and expand his substantial fanbase. With notable international collaborations and the album’s release just before the August 31 Grammy deadline, Fireboy is potentially positioning himself for global recognition.
