NAVAL OFFICER MURDERS EX-NAVAL CHIEF’S SON, STEALS SUV PRADO IN ABUJA

A Nigerian Navy seaman has been arrested for the alleged murder of Aminu Ibrahim, the son of a late Admiral, and the theft of his SUV Prado in Maitama, Abuja. The arrest was made by operatives from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command during a routine stop and search operation on August 23.

During a media briefing on Wednesday, the FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, disclosed that the suspect had been on guard duty at the residence of the retired naval officer. Preliminary investigations revealed that the stolen vehicle belonged to the late Aminu Ibrahim.

The CP further stated that the suspect confessed to being part of a three-man gang that specializes in armed robbery and the theft of luxury vehicles. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the remaining members of the gang. The suspects will be charged in court upon the completion of the investigation.

In a related development, the CP also announced the arrest of twin brothers in Abuja on August 27 for allegedly stealing an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card and withdrawing money from unsuspecting victims’ accounts.
