A new documentary titled “Daniel vs Ekweremadu,” written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Chude Jideonwo, has revealed that the London Metropolitan Police is investigating a fresh case linked to the notorious conviction of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu. Ekweremadu was sentenced to ten years in a British prison in 2023 for human trafficking.

The two-part documentary, which premiered on August 23, 2024, delves into the scandal that saw Ekweremadu, his wife Beatrice, and their associate Dr. Obinna Obeta convicted under the UK’s Modern Slavery Law for organ harvesting. The series blends thriller-style storytelling with factual reporting, marking a significant milestone for West African independent filmmaking.

A new development in the case was disclosed through an email from Alexandra Meek, a senior communication manager for the MET Police, featured in the documentary. Meek confirmed that on November 8, 2022, detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime unit arrested a woman in her 50s on suspicion of conspiracy to exploit for the purposes of organ harvesting. The woman was released under investigation, and enquiries remain ongoing.

This ongoing investigation by the MET Police is directly tied to the Ekweremadu case, adding another layer of complexity to the already controversial saga.

The documentary is exclusively available on withChude.com and provides exclusive insights from key figures involved in the case, including British prosecutors, police, and the family of the victim-survivor, known as “Daniel.”
