Governor Ademola Adeleke has paid tribute to the founding fathers of Osun State as it marks its 33rd anniversary. In a state broadcast on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the governor emphasized the unity and determination that led to the state’s creation in 1991.

Governor Adeleke highlighted the crucial contributions of key figures like the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the late Chief Bola Ige, and his own father, the late Senator Raji Adeleke. He recognized their efforts in advocating for the recognition of Osun’s unique identity within Nigeria, leading to the fulfillment of the hopes and aspirations of its people.

“Today, we stand united in celebration of a journey that began three decades ago, a journey marked by determination, resilience, and a strong belief in our collective future,” Adeleke stated.
