Yakubu Garba, the Acting Governor of Niger State, has condemned the recent bandit attack on the Anguwan Mai-Giro community, situated on the border between Shiroro and Rafi Local Government Areas. In a statement released on Thursday by Alhaji Ibrahim Bologi, Chief Press Secretary to the Niger Governor, Garba described the attack as satanic, insensible, atrocious, and callous, resulting in the deaths of approximately 13 villagers.

Garba expressed his deep dismay at such a barbaric and vicious act against fellow humans. He extended his condolences to the victims’ families, the local community, and all affected council areas. The acting governor reaffirmed the Bago-led administration’s steadfast commitment to combating insecurity in the state.

He urged security agencies to intensify their efforts in the fight against insecurity and pledged ongoing support from the state government to secure the region. Garba also prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and for solace to those who were injured in the attack.
