In a recent address at the Dutse Government House, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has mandated the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to closely monitor the distribution of emergency palliative supplies in the state. This directive comes amid the distribution of 59,000 bags of rice and other assorted grains aimed at supporting less privileged individuals across the 287 political wards in Jigawa State.

The federal government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, supplied a significant quantity of food items, including 13,825 bags of sorghum, 9,500 bags of millet, 11,500 bags of maize, and 24,000 bags of rice. In addition, the state government has contributed 23,000 cartons of spaghetti, 5,000 bags of rice, 500 bags of sorghum, and 5,000 bags of maize.

Governor Namadi emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness in the distribution process. He assured the public that the state government has implemented measures to ensure the proper handling and equitable allocation of these resources. To further reinforce accountability, he has called on security agencies, including the EFCC, ICPC, and the Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, to remain vigilant and take necessary actions against any observed misconduct.

The Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Dalladi Sankara, also spoke at the event, noting that the beneficiaries have been carefully selected from all 27 local government areas of the state.
