CIHP Highlights Adolescent Health Crisis and Calls for Action

The Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) has highlighted the significant health challenges faced by adolescents in Nigeria. The organization reports high rates of HIV and other infectious diseases among this age group, along with issues related to mental health, substance abuse, and limited access to reproductive health services.

Dr. Bolanle Oyeledun, Chief Executive of CIHP, emphasized the urgency of addressing these challenges. She noted that adolescents, a crucial demographic in Nigeria, have been largely overlooked and require focused attention and sustainable strategies.

CIHP is organizing a roundtable discussion to address these issues. The event will explore:
Identifying ways to empower adolescents through STEM education, vocational training, and leadership programs.
Examining how technology can enhance health interventions and support mental well-being among young people.

The roundtable aims to:
Encourage cooperation and knowledge sharing among experts, stakeholders, and policymakers.
Create comprehensive and sustainable strategies to improve adolescent health and well-being.
Build partnerships that will lead to concrete actions and improvements in the lives of young Nigerians.

The discussions are expected to produce actionable plans and partnerships to tackle the pressing health issues faced by adolescents in Nigeria.
