Lagos Government Warns Against Attacks on Passengers and BRT Buses

The Lagos State Government has issued a stern warning against the recent spate of attacks on passengers and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses. Idowu Oguntona, Managing Director/CEO of Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL), condemned the violence and vandalism, describing it as inhumane and unacceptable.

Oguntona highlighted a recent incident where a bus traveling from Mile 2 to Leventis was assaulted by a mob at the Ore-Ofe bus stop. The attackers injured passengers, stole their belongings, and caused widespread panic.

The Lagos State Government is committed to prosecuting those responsible for these acts of violence. Oguntona assured the public that security agencies are actively pursuing the perpetrators and emphasized that such criminal behavior will not be tolerated.

The government reiterated its dedication to ensuring the safety of all public transportation users and promised to take all necessary legal measures to protect residents and visitors.
