Manchester United Target Matthijs de Ligt Under Investigation for Hit-and-Run Incident.

Manchester United’s top transfer target, Matthijs de Ligt, is under police investigation following a hit-and-run incident in Bavaria. The Dutch defender, who currently plays for Bayern Munich, is reported to have collided with a parked car near his club’s training ground before fleeing the scene.

According to German outlet BILD, a witness to the accident contacted the authorities, leading to the towing of de Ligt’s vehicle. A Munich-based lawyer indicated that while de Ligt could face a fine, the most severe penalty for such offenses could be up to three years in prison. The outcome will largely depend on whether the accident was deemed intentional or accidental.

The police have yet to make an official statement on the investigation.
