Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has issued a warning to Chelsea about potential issues with Cole Palmer’s performance this season and predicted that Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca might not last the entire 2024/25 campaign.

Carragher expressed doubt about whether Cole Palmer, who was Chelsea’s standout player last season, will replicate his impressive form. Palmer scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in 33 Premier League appearances under former manager Mauricio Pochettino. Pochettino was sacked after leading Chelsea to a sixth-place finish.
Carragher noted that Pochettino deserves credit for Palmer’s success, suggesting that Palmer might not perform at the same level this season, especially with a new manager and system in place.

Carragher predicted that Enzo Maresca, who replaced Pochettino as Chelsea’s manager after moving from Leicester City, might not remain in charge for the full season. He cited Chelsea’s tumultuous period under new ownership and the club’s difficult start to the season, including a challenging opening game against Manchester City, as reasons for his prediction.

Carragher highlighted the instability and issues Chelsea has faced under the new ownership, suggesting that the club’s management and performance could continue to struggle.

The comments came during a discussion on The Overlap, where Carragher shared his insights on Chelsea’s prospects for the upcoming season and the potential impact of managerial changes.
