Gov Soludo launches Anambra Electoral Commission for upcoming LG elections

On Tuesday, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo inaugurated the state Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) in Awka, tasked with overseeing the upcoming Local Government elections. The six-member commission, chaired by Magistrate Genevieve Osakwe, also includes Bernadine Obande, Osita Igbokwe, Chinedu Nnalue, Helen Umeh, and John Okeke.

Governor Soludo emphasized the importance of the commission’s role, urging them to provide exceptional service to the people of Anambra. The commission’s responsibilities, as outlined in the Anambra Electoral Law 2024, include organizing, supervising, and managing all aspects of the local elections, including the division of local government areas into wards or constituencies as legally required.
