Omoni Oboli, the acclaimed filmmaker, has announced “The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3,” a spinoff to her 2016 hit film “Wives on Strike.” This new installment follows the success of its predecessors, “Wives on Strike” in 2016 and “Wives on Strike: The Revolution” in 2018. The series is known for its satirical approach, focusing on a group of women who withhold sex from their husbands to protest gender-based violence and advocate for social justice.

Oboli shared her excitement and gratitude for the upcoming film in an Instagram post, describing the project as a return to her filmmaking roots and expressing appreciation for her cast and crew’s dedication. The film is set to feature familiar faces such as Chioma Akpotha, Uche Jombo, Omoni Oboli herself, and Ufuoma McDermott. New additions to the cast include veteran actress Hilda Dokubo, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (known as KieKie), and May Yul-Edochie.

“The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3” is slated for release in the fourth quarter of the year, promising to continue sparking critical conversations while blending humor with important societal issues.
