Chukwu Chijioke, the former member of the Abia State House of Assembly, criticized Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Uchechukwu Ogah for their roles in the leadership crisis within the Abia chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His comments were prompted by Senator Kalu’s recent statement cautioning against the creation of factions within the party in Abia State.

Chijioke accused Kalu and Ogah of contributing to the party’s downfall in the lead-up to the 2023 elections in Abia State. He expressed surprise that Senator Kalu claimed ignorance about the state party chairman, suggesting that Kalu had played a role in undermining the party’s cohesion.

In his statement addressed to Senator Kalu, Chijioke criticized Kalu’s actions during the 2023 elections, alleging that Kalu failed to secure victory for the APC even in his own polling unit. He accused Kalu and Ogah of conspiring against the party by taking legal action against sitting members and causing internal divisions.

Chijioke’s remarks reflect the deep-seated divisions and power struggles within the Abia APC, with allegations of betrayal and sabotage leveled against key party figures. The accusations highlight the challenges facing the party as it seeks to consolidate its position and gain electoral success in Abia State.
