In two separate incidents, bandits have abducted a total of 19 individuals in Kaduna State, causing alarm in the affected communities.

In Mani community near a factory in Rido Ward, Chikun Local Government Area, bandits targeted three houses early Thursday morning. Among those abducted were a woman and her three children. A local source reported that six of his relatives were among those taken to the forest. The source expressed deep concern, noting that they have not heard from the abductors yet. The victims include a nursing mother with four children, young individuals, and an infant. The source has called on authorities to intervene and rescue the victims.

In a related incident, bandits attacked Danhonu II Millennium City, also in Chikun Local Government Area, on Wednesday night. They abducted a mother and her three sons from the home of Mr. Mutiu Adeleke. The attack occurred around 10 p.m., with the gunmen firing sporadically before kidnapping the victims. Mrs. Adeleke was reportedly abandoned in the bush but managed to return home, while her three sons remain missing.

It was noted that Mr. Adeleke, who had recently secured a new apartment in a safer location and was in the process of relocating, was targeted just days before completing his move. The recent abduction follows a similar incident involving Kaduna-based journalists and their family members two months prior.

As of now, ASP Munsir Hassan, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, has not yet commented on the incidents.
