10 injured as Boeing 737 skids off runway at Senegal airport

At least ten people were injured on Wednesday when a Boeing 737 plane carrying 85 people skidded off a runway at the airport in Dakar, Senegal’s capital.

The Minister of Transport, Malick Ndiaye, confirmed that the affected aircraft was an Air Sénégal flight operated by TransAir.

Ndiaye disclosed that the plane was headed to Bamako late Wednesday with 79 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew.

The Minister confirmed that injured persons were being treated at a hospital, while the others were taken to a hotel to rest.

The Aviation Safety Network, which tracks airline accidents, published photos of the damaged plane in a grassy field surrounded by fire suppressant foam on X.
